Gujarat Vidyapith is a one of the prestigious institutions in the higher education arena. It is unique, pioneer and autonomous in the country since it’s inception (1920). It is an empirical model of Gandhian vision of basic education – NaiTalim . It devotes to promote the self-reliant lifestyle that strives to improve rural living standard . The main aim of BRS ( Rural Planning and Development) course is to develop among students willingness, abilities-skills and appropriate values to work with and for the rural communities. The course enable the students enhance sustainable lifestyle and democratic values to bring prosperity and their well being in inter land of India. We try to inculcate ideas of Gandhi towards Rural Planning & Development among our students, this outstanding and innovative model of education is for reconstructing new India to bring true Swaraj after political freedom from British rule.
To accomplish this objectives, we try to provide them an intensive and comprehensive training in the field of Rural Planning and Development. Moreover, to balance between knowledge of theory and practice, we give our students self learning modules, community based field exposure and institutional training. In broader sense, it is a movement, a vision in action and rural revolution that imparts higher education to people otherwise unable to access it. After completing the three years graduation course, the students may take up either a career in the community development field or go for further study in relevant subjects.
