Department of Physical Education, Faculty of Physical Education and Sports Science started imparting Physical education from the academic year 1989-90. Initially BPE Bachelor of Physical Education Programme is run in year 1989 and later as BPES Bachelor of Physical Education and Sports Programme started from year 2017. The Programme approved by the University Grant Commission (UGC). The Institute has been striving to make Building a healthy society and developing physical education and sports with Gandhian system.
- Attendance: Minimum requirement of attendance is 80% of working days.
- Passing Standards: Minimum 40% marks requiring in each subject (in internal as well as external examination).
Admission shall be made on merit on the basis of marks obtained in the entrance test (written test, physical fitness test & marks obtained in the qualifying examination.
The student who passed in the Higher Secondary Examination with any discipline conducted by the Government of Gujarat; or an examination accepted as equivalent thereto by the Board of Governors / MHRD, India, subject to such conditions as may be prescribed there for.
There shall be a basic unit of 50 (Fifty) students with one sections of 50 (fifty) each.
2 Years (Four Semester)

Structure Content
The courses and programmes in Faculty of Physical education and sports science has been designed to comply with the outcome-based teaching and learning. The courses are best in the Gujarat state and the placement of students across the Gujarat state and as well as whole India in various reputed institutes. The major learning outcomes of the graduate program are:
- This would lead the students to understand historical concept of physical education and relationship between Philosophy, Education, Physical Education and Gandhian values.
- The student would further understand the theoretical implications of philosophies of physical education with modern development and social aspects of Physical Education with Gandhian values.
- The curriculum shall enable to prepare quality based physical education teacher.
- The curriculum shall enable to prepare Gandhian value based physical education teacher.
- The curriculum shall enable them to organize, officiate, supervise various sports tournaments.
- The pass out shall be able to orient children in schools with the fundamental and advance skills of selected sports as per their inherited potential.
- The curriculum would enable the pass out to select the inherited talented children for various sports and physical activities.
- The pass out shall be able to devise training program for athletes engaged in different sports activities. The curriculum would enable the pass out students to be starting their own physiotherapy centre, fitness club, gym, SPA and yoga center.
- The curriculum would enable the pass out to devise training program for physically challenged people
- The curriculum would enable the pass out students to be start their own counseling centre and made appropriate physical fitness program and weight control program for different genders and age groups of people.
