The PhD Programmes in History at Gujarat Vidyapith seeks to develop research in regional history in modern era, especially dealing with the national movement, tourism and Gandhian constructive activities. The department encourages research which deals with socio-cultural-political aspects of changes, happened in 19th and 20th century in Gujarat. As a part of Gujarat Vidyapith, the department inspires students to interpret the past in Gandhian perspective.
Admission is given on the basis of merit based on written test.

As per the number of vacant seats with the research supervisors in the department

Selection is done by Entrance Examination.
The following fees are for the first year, in which the food reserve fee is considered for Semester-1 only, which has to be paid separately in the second semester.
