The PG program offers the advance understanding of historiography and regional history with special focus on history of Gujarat. In first semester students have to study history of modern Europe and contemporary world also the various aspects and new approaches of history writing. In second semester students have choice to study any one particular period of Indian history between ancient, medieval and modern. Third semester is completely dedicated to regional history particularly the history of Gujarat and the forth semester is devoted to research work. In forth semester student have to write a dissertation with following the historical methodology.

In PG programme student will understand the eastern and western historiography, contemporary world history, regional history, history of Gandhian movement and Gandhian activities and research methodology of historical research. Student have choice to understand one of the periodical histories of India like ancient, medieval or modern. Along with this choice student will understand the constitutional history of India, economic history of colonial India, history of science in modern India, peasant and tribal movement in colonial period, history of women in India, Indian epigraphy, Indian numismatic, basics of archaeology and archival studies. In last semester of PG programme student will have to take a project work and write a dissertation to understand the research methodology of history. Students also understand the various aspects and perspectives of historiography apart from this student also develop understanding about the regional history in depth.
