About the Library
- Welcome to the Central Library of Gujarat Vidyapith, a treasure trove of knowledge established alongside the Vidyapith in 1920. Over the years, our library has flourished, becoming one of the most abundant collections of books, journals, and manuscripts in the state of Gujarat. We take immense pride in offering our library membership to the public at a nominal fee.
- With a remarkable history intertwined with India’s struggle for independence, the Gujarat Vidyapith Library stands at the heart of our main campus. Housing an impressive assortment of over 600,000 books, serial volumes, rare editions, reference materials, and other valuable resources, we cater to a wide range of interests and disciplines.
- Our primary objective is to cater to the information needs of the Vidyapith community. However, since its inception, our library has extended its services to the citizens of Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar, embracing the dual role of an academic and public library. We boast an extensive collection covering diverse subjects such as Gujarati Literature, Hindi Literature, English Literature, Social Work, Sociology, Education, Physical Education, Library Science, Gandhian Literature, Microbiology, and much more.
